Better Bus Initiative

Capital Improvement Program

Zero Emissions Vehicles Program

Metro is transitioning to a 100% zero-emission bus fleet by 2042. This will improve regional air quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide customers with a quieter ride. Read more


Capital Needs Forecast

The ten-year Capital Needs Forecast provides information about the scale and scope of Metro's unconstrained state of good repair and modernization needs and insight to support the capital planning, prioritization and programming process.

Rail and Bus Service Planning

Metro is advancing plans to continue providing safe, reliable bus and rail service to customers throughout the region while improving system capacity and infrastructure. Developments include service integration, operations improvements, dedicated bus lane and transit signal priority improvements, bus and rail facility construction, and other investments to improve the customer experience.


Station Access Improvement Studies

Metro is committed to increasing and improving access to its Metrorail stations. This includes facilitating easy bicycle, pedestrian, and vehicular access to station areas, planning for additional entrances to rail stations, and working with local jurisdictions to encourage and enable quality development opportunities around our stations.
