New Hampshire Ave Chiller Plant - Groundwater Treatment Addition

En español

3670 New Hampshire Avenue NW, Washington DC 20010

The New Hampshire Ave Chiller Plant is in Washington D.C.’s Petworth neighborhood. The existing facility holds a small cooling tower, chiller, and electrical/mechanical equipment to cool nearby Georgia Ave-Petworth Metrorail station.

Project Objectives

The project will deliver safer and more sustainable operations to the region by:

  • Remediating groundwater to meet environmental standards.
  • Constructing a rear addition to the existing building with new soil vapor and groundwater testing/treatment equipment.
  • Building a paved driveway with underground wells connected to the groundwater treatment system.

The approximately year-long project is funded through Metro’s capital program, which invests in system safety, reliability, and the region’s economy.
