Metro serves more than 46,000* daily parking customers who park in Park & Ride surface parking lots and parking garages before riding Metrorail or Metrobus to their destination. Metro owns and operates parking facilities at 44 Metro stations throughout the region and has 27 parking garages and 82 surface parking lots which include high-occupancy vehicle lots and Kiss & Ride lots. As part of Metro’s commitment to provide safe, affordable and reliable transportation, Metro has dedicated funding from its capital improvement program to update aging parking facilities in the region. 

In fact, Metro’s capital improvement program has allocated more funding than before to proactively address needed parking improvement projects across the region, which ensure that Metro’s parking facilities are in a state of good repair, provide a safe and reliable experience for Metro customers and continue to meet customers' expectations. Metro’s parking improvement projects include resurfacing and restriping of surface parking lots, a variety of improvements to parking garages and the parking preventive maintenance program.
