Blue/Yellow line service adjustments Nov 26-Dec 9 due to Potomac Bridge improvement project
Advisory Effective: 11/26/18 - 12/9/18

Immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Metro will begin a continuous 14-day capital project (10 commuting days) on the Yellow Line bridge over the Potomac River beginning Monday, November 26 through Sunday, December 9. The project will include structural repairs, and rail infrastructure improvements, such as grout pad reconstruction and fastener replacement along the entire bridge.
During the project, there will be no Yellow Line service. Customers should use the Blue Line for alternate service between Virginia and DC.
Blue Line trains will run between Franconia-Springfield & Largo Town Center and between Huntington & Largo Town Center. During rush hour, trains will run about half as frequently as usual, due to capacity limits at the Rosslyn tunnel. Customers may experience crowding.
The project, first announced in February, is the last of four capital improvement projects scheduled this year to ensure continued safe and reliable operations.
Rush Hour Promise will not be in effect for trips on the Yellow and Blue lines during this time, but will remain in effect for customers on other lines.
