  • If heading back on the Green/Yellow line in the Branch Avenue/Huntington direction from the WMATA HQ
  • Uses the Maryland Ave and 7th elevator exit
 

Directions Back To WMATA HQ

1.

After exiting the WMATA HQ building, make your way to the intersection of D and 7th. Turn to the right.

Proceed down 7th Street towards Virginia Avenue. It is about 210 ft to the crossing.

Once at the corner, you will cross Virginia Avenue. This intersection does not have a traffic light, but there is a stop sign for vehicles traveling on Virginia Avenue from the right. Virginia Avenue is about 60 ft wide.

After crossing Virginia Avenue, you will immediately pass under a bridge. Beyond the bridge, you will head slightly uphill for about 180 ft until you reach the intersection of 7th St and Maryland Avenue.

5.

Turn to the left when at the intersection of 7th and Maryland. Cross 7th Street when it is safe to do so. 7th Street is about 80 ft wide.

After crossing 7th Street, turn to the left and proceed about 100 ft to the Metro elevator that will take you to the mezzanine of the station. Push the button to call the elevator.

7.

Exit the elevator and proceed approximately 60 ft to the center of the mezzanine promenade.

8.

Turn to the right and head forward to the faregates and the station manager’s kiosk. The ADA faregate is to the right of the station manager’s kiosk.

9.

After passing through the ADA faregate, make a wide right U-Turn to the entrance of a guided pathway to the elevator that connects to the Green and Yellow line platform for Branch Avenue/Huntington.

10.

At the end of the guided pathway, turn to the left and proceed into the elevator at the end of the alcove. Push the button to call the elevator and ride to the Branch Avenue/Huntington platform of the metro.

11.

Exit the elevator and turn to the right. You are on the Branch Avenue/Huntington platform. Proceed forward until you are past the escalators to ensure that you will be able to board whatever train arrives at the platform.
