Directions Back To Transit Accessibility Center

1.

After exiting the Transit Accessibility Center, turn to the right and continue about 20 ft to reach a gap between the building and the parapet wall.

Turn to the left and go past the parapet wall (approximately 10 ft). There is a bollard in the middle of this path.

When past the wall and on the sidewalk, turn to the left. Keep to the left so that the building is close as the sidewalk is narrow. Proceed down Virginia Avenue approximately 235 ft to reach the intersection of Virginia Avenue and 7th St.

Once at the corner, you will cross Virginia Avenue. This intersection does not have a traffic light, but there is a stop sign for vehicles traveling on Virginia Avenue from the right. Virginia Avenue is about 60 ft wide.

After crossing Virginia Avenue, you will immediately pass under a bridge. Beyond the bridge, you will head slightly uphill for about 180 ft until you reach the intersection of 7th St and Maryland Avenue.

Turn to the left when at the intersection of 7th and Maryland. Cross 7th Street when it is safe to do so. 7th Street is about 80 ft wide.

After crossing 7th Street, turn to the left and proceed about 100 ft to the Metro elevator that will take you to the mezzanine of the station. Push the button to call the elevator.

Exit the elevator and proceed approximately 60 ft to the center of the mezzanine promenade.

Turn to the right and head forward to the faregates and the station manager’s kiosk. The ADA faregate is to the right of the station manager’s kiosk.

After passing through the ADA faregate, make a wide left U-Turn to the entrance of a guided pathway to the elevator that connects to the Green and Yellow line platform for Greenbelt.

11.

At the end of the guided pathway, turn to the left and proceed into the elevator at the end of the alcove. Push the button to call the elevator and you will ride down one level to the Branch Ave/Huntington Platform.

Exit the elevator and turn to the right. You are on the Branch Avenue/Huntington platform. Proceed down the platform approximately 460 ft. Turn right.

13.

There are half walls with railings on your left and right. Find the wall to the left and walk forward. The wall will end with a pylon and lead to a gap before a second side wall structure comes up. Walk to the end of this second side wall to its pylon. After this, you should be in line with the elevator for the lower levels and the Orange/Blue/Silver line trains.

14.

Make a wide U-Turn to the left around the pylon to end up in front of the elevator for the lower level. Call the elevator and ride it down to the lower platform.

15.

Upon exiting the elevator, trains that will continue on to Franconia-Springfield, Vienna, and Ashburn will be on the left and you will be towards the front of the train. Trains that will continue on to New Carrollton and Downtown Largo will be on the right and you will be towards the back of the train.
