Weekday midday service adjustments for rebuilding January 2-6, 2017

Advisory Effective: 1/2/17 - 1/6/17

Metrorail reconstruction continues middays Monday through Friday this week with the following service adjustments between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Passengers at stations impacted by these service adjustments are asked to follow Passenger Information Display signs, station announcements or consult a Station Manager for any boarding location changes.


Red Line Red Line
Trains every 8-16 minutes

Red Line trains will operate between Shady Grove & Glenmont every 16 minutes with additional trains between Van Ness-UDC & Silver Spring every 8-10 minutes.

Trains will single track between Friendship Heights and Medical Center to allow for rail fastener & stud renewal, joint elimination and leak mitigation.


Orange Line Orange Line
Trains every 18 minutes

Orange Line trains will depart end-of-line stations every 18 minutes.

Trains will single track between McPherson Square and Foggy Bottom to allow for rail & fastener renewal and joint elimination.


Silver Line Silver Line
Trains every 18 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East & Ballston

Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.

Blue Line Blue Line
Trains every 18 minutes

Blue Line trains will depart end-of-line stations every 18 minutes

Trains will single track between McPherson Square and Foggy Bottom to allow for rail & fastener renewal and joint elimination.


Yellow Line Yellow Line
Regular midday service - Huntington to Fort Totten


Green Line Green Line
Regular midday service
