New Year's Eve/New Year's Day Service Information

Metrorail will remain open until 2 a.m. on New Year's Eve (early New Year's Day) for the benefit of holiday revelers.

On Sunday, December 31, Red Line trains will single track between Medical Center and Grosvenor until 6:00 p.m.
Last train departure times vary by station. Customers can check last train times on New Year's Eve by visiting a station's webpage at
wmata.com/stations and adding three hours to the regular last train time.
For service to Washington Dulles International Airport and Baltimore-Washington/Thurgood Marshall International Airports:
- Metrobus route 5A will operate Sunday service on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Metrobus route B30 will operate regular weekday service but will not operate on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
