Route G9 will begin service on March 20, 2017 and operate weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., every 15 to 20 minutes from Eastern Avenue to Franklin Sq. This new route will offer faster, limited-stop service along Rhode Island Ave NE/NW. Westbound buses will travel towards Franklin Sq and eastbound buses will travel towards Eastern Ave. The route will service 15 westbound stops and 13 eastbound stops. For more frequent stops customers can use routes 83, 86 or G8 alternatively.

Route G9 Rhode Island Ave Limited Line comes after many studies and community outreach was conducted amongst local businesses and area residents. It was determined that a rush hour, bi-directional MetroExtra limited stop service was much needed. Route G9 is expected to service over 1,000 people per day. Due to recent area growth, buses traveling in the area have become overcrowded resulting in an uncomfortable ride for passengers. Route G9 will provide customers traveling along Rhode Island Ave more direct and faster service.

• Rhode Island Ave. & 11th St. NW
