Weekday service adjustments for maintenance July 18-20

Advisory Effective: 7/16/18 - 7/23/18

Highlights

  • No scheduled track work on Monday, July 16 or Tuesday, July 17 as Nationals Park (Navy Yard-Ballpark) hosts the 89th Annual MLB All-Star Game and T-Mobile Home Run Derby
  • Wednesday and Thursday night service is scheduled to operate every 20-25 minutes on all Metrorail lines from 10:00 p.m. until closing
  • Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East & Ballston beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Passengers at stations impacted by these service adjustments are asked to follow Passenger Information Display signs, station announcements or consult a Station Manager for any boarding location changes.

Red Line Red Line
Weeknight: Trains every 20-25 minutes

Single tracking between Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Ave to allow for rail, fastener and tie renewal.


Orange Line Orange Line
Weeknight:
Trains every 20-25 minutes

Single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Smithsonian to allow for installation of cable/communication equipment to support cellular service in tunnels and new radio system.


Silver Line Silver Line
Weeknight: Trains operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston station only

Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only to accommodate work on the Blue & Orange lines. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. 

At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.


Blue Line Blue Line
Weeknight: Trains every 20-25 minutes

Single tracking between L'Enfant Plaza and Navy Yard-Ballpark to allow for rail, fastener and tie renewal.
