Temporary Detour: MDOT MTA Purple Line Light Rail Construction, February 14-21

Colesville Road between Wayne Ave & East-West Hwy will close as follows: 

• 8:00 pm, Friday, February 14 and reopen at 6:00 am on Tuesday, February 18. Closure will be all day Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and reopening on Tuesday. 

• Each day, close at 8:00 pm, and reopen at 6:00 am the following day.

Street Closure:

• Colesville Rd between Wayne Ave & East-West Hwy

When Colesville Road is closed, buses will use the following detours:

J1, J2 Bethesda-Silver Spring eastbound toward Silver Spring

• Buses begin detouring on Colesville Rd at East-West Hwy, ending service at stop ID# (2001001)

J1, J2 Bethesda-Silver Spring westbound toward Montgomery Mall

• Buses begin service at stop ID# (2001001), resuming regular route on East-West Hwy at 16^th St.

S2, S4, S9 – 16^th Street northbound toward Silver Spring Station

• Buses end service on Colesville Rd at East-West Hwy, stop ID# (2001009)

S2, S4 – 16^th Street southbound toward Federal Triangle/Franklin Square

• Buses begin service at stop ID# (2001009), resuming regular route on Eastern Ave NW at 13^th St

S9 16^th Street MetroExtra southbound toward Franklin Square

• Buses begin detouring on East-West Hwy at Colesville Rd, resuming regular route on Alaska Ave NW at Georgia Ave.
