Synopsis

RFP No. CQ17115/RSC – On-Site CCTV System Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Services and Replacement Parts for Bus Fleet, Storerooms and Service Lanes

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is soliciting proposals for a contractor to provide On-Site CCTV Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Services for Replacement Parts for Bus Fleet, in Storerooms and Service Lanes.

Proposals are due on July 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at WMATA, Office of Procurement and Materials, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Room 3C-02, Washington, DC 20001.

A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 12, 2017 at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Carmen E. Turner Maintenance and Training Facility, 3500 Pennsy Drive, Building B, Room B-149 Landover, MD 20785. All questions must be submitted in writing to Ms. Ruby S. Coley via email rcoley@wmata.com. Questions submitted in writing prior to June 12, 2017 may have answers provided at the Pre-Proposal Conference. Cut-off date for submitting questions is June 16, 2017.

PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE SAFETY VEST AND SAFETY SHOES REQUIRED FOR ATTENDANCE: During the Pre-Proposal Conference, vendors will have an opportunity to inspect a bus camera system in a Bus Maintenance Shop; therefore, all vendors are required to wear a safety vest and safety shoes. Vendors not wearing a safety vest and safety shoes are not allowed in the Bus Maintenance Shop.

Minimum requirements for footwear are: Approved safety shoes shall be worn by all personnel while performing work at any Bus Maintenance garage or shop location. In addition, safety shoes must be worn by all persons who are observing the work of others, in close proximity, where there is a risk of foot injury by chemical absorption, compression or impact forces.

An approved safety shoe has a hard durable sole, such as leather, polyurethane, rubber, neoprene, or equivalent, leather uppers and a protective toe cap of either steel or composite material. To be assured that the shoe you buy is a true safety shoe, look for the following statement (or similar wording) ingrained into the shoe or on a manufacturer’s tag attached to the shoe: “Meets ASTM F-2412-2005; ANSI Z41-1999; ANSI Z41-1991; ASTM F2413-11; ASTM F2413-05.” Athletic type loafer, and soft leather type safety shoes, even though they might be imprinted with the ASTM and ANSI standards are not approved for use in the WMATA work environment.

If your firm have not already done so, please submit, via email to rcoley@wmata.com, the company name and the names of those who will be attending the Pre-Proposal Conference.
