I am interested in doing business with WMATA. How do I register as a new supplier?

Organizations interested in doing business with WMATA must register their business on the Supplier Portal in order to be considered for any procurement opportunities.

What information do I need to register as a new supplier?

During registration, new suppliers will be asked to provide information such as the company name, user contact information, primary business address, invoice address (if different from primary business address), the company's tax identification number (TIN), industry classification codes (NAICS/SIC), business details (i.e., type of ownership, owner name, year established).

What if I am already a registered supplier?

If you are already registered, we recommend that you log in to your supplier profile and make sure that all of your contact information is up to date.

What if I forgot or unable to locate the User ID (username)?

What if I forgot my password?

If you forgot your password, click the " I forgot my password" link under the login section on the Portal. You will be asked to enter the User ID (username) associated with your account and you will then click SUBMIT. A password reset email containing password reset instructions will be sent to the email address associated with your User ID. Please check your SPAM and JUNK folders, because some reset emails may be placed in those folders.

Why am I not receiving the password reset emails?

Password reset emails are sent to the primary email address listed on the supplier profile. Please check your SPAM and JUNK folders, because some reset emails may be placed in those folders.

How do I change/reset my password?

To change or reset your password, enter your User ID (username) and password to login into the supplier profile. Select Main Menu on the toolbar in the upper left-hand corner of the portal. A dropdown list of menu options will appear, please select " Change My Password". You will be prompted to enter your current password, then a new password, and then reenter the new password to confirm. Click Change Password, and a message box will confirm that the password has been successfully changed.

How do I add additional users?

To add additional users, enter your User ID (username) and password to login into the supplier profile. Select Main Menu on the toolbar in the upper left-hand corner of the portal. A dropdown list of menu options will appear, please select " Maintain Supplier Information". Then select Contacts to add additional users.

How do I update my supplier profile? (address, email, phone)

To update supplier profiles, enter your User ID (username) and password to login into the supplier profile. Select Main Menu on the toolbar in the upper left-hand corner of the portal. A dropdown list of menu options will appear, please select " Maintain Supplier Information". Then select Addresses to update the desired address, email, or phone number information.

What do I do if I tried registering and my company is already registered?

If you receive the message " duplicate entity was found" it means that a current registration exists with the same tax identification number (TIN).

To obtain the User ID (username) associated with the supplier profile, please send an email to Supplier Support at prmt_suppliersupport@wmata.com and have available the company name and Tax ID.

How can I get in touch with a purchasing or commodity manager to discuss a product or service my company offers?

Due to the large volume of inquiries we receive, we do not provide direct phone numbers or email addresses. Instead, we use the Supplier Portal as a means of routing information. If you have a product or service you would like to introduce, please register on the Supplier Portal and when your registration is complete, your company information will be made available to all our procurement professionals.

Does the system send automated updates or reminders to suppliers who do not response to invitations?

No, the system does not send automated update reminders to suppliers who have not responded to solicitation or event notifications.

Once I register, when will I start to receive solicitations?

Completion of registration does not guarantee automatic notification of solicitations. When a solicitation is identified and your organization is found to have the item category and/or NAICS/SIC code, your organization will be included in the list of potential suppliers that match specific sourcing requests.

What Internet browsers are supported?

Internet Explorer version 10 or newer is the supported Internet browser used by the WMATA Supplier Portal.

How can I get on WMATA's Bid List for contract opportunities?

To receive e-mail notifications on contract opportunities, suppliers must register on the WMATA Supplier Portal, identifying their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industry codes for the commodity and services for which they wish to receive notifications. Each supplier must provide a primary NAICS code in their profile and may also select additional codes.

How long will my registration last? Will I be notified when it expires?

Supplier registrations do not expire. The information in your supplier profile will be valid for as long as you are in business, and should be reviewed and updated as necessary. In the future, however you may receive notifications from WMATA Accounts Payable to provide payment information, such as a Form W9).

If you are a registered Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) supplier, you will receive notification when your certificate expires.

Can I receive a bid notification if I have not registered in the Portal?

Although access to view Active Procurement Opportunities is available on the Supplier Portal, we strongly recommend and encourage registration so that you can receive bid notifications that correspond to your category, NAICS Codes and SIC Codes.

Who do I contact if I have questions about Active Procurement Opportunities?

For questions about Active Procurement Opportunities, review the Solicitation Details section, the Contracting Officer's name and email address are provided in that section. All questions must be submitted to the listed Contracting Officer; they will be answered by the Contracting Officer or a representative from his/her staff.
