Synopsis

Project Description: Bus I & II Improvement at Carmen Turner Facility – CTF Bldgs. E and F

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) requires the services of qualified contractors to provide services replace the existing overhead doors with rapid roll up doors along with new security grills including ancillary supporting elements, wiring, controls etc. and connected to the existing emergency gas detection system. Also install heated Air curtain, vehicle exhaust system with compressed air reel supports. Retro-fit with new vehicle exhaust fans, ductwork, and exhaust hose reels etc. Also to provide and install 18 Exhaust fans including associated duct work etc. and hose reels, compressed air reels. Need to remove two existing vehicle exhaust fan systems including ductwork wirings etc. (VEEF-3 & VEEF-4 power feed.). Also to provide and install 5 gas fired unit heaters including piping, valves power feeds, wiring, controls and supports. For the BUS II area in Bldg. “F” at CTF.

For BUS-I area at Bldg. “E” – required floor finish with 125,000sf of new epoxy resinous flooring, 2,500 sf of new dissipative conductive floor coating and new 3 inch wide stripping at work bays. Partial roof work (metal deck, insulation, membrane roof and incidentals) to support the new installation of two ERUs and associated duct work. New structural framing for the same. Provide and install two roof mounted ERUs including controls, return ductwork, supports, smoke dampers, sound lining, supply drum louvers and exhaust grills along with two GFUH including supports, control vents etc. with the installation of gas piping, regulators with 6 motorized operated damper actuators to be retrofitted to existing wall louvers. Secondly upgrade the lighting systems by removing all existing 400W high bay HID fixture, controls, all power supply wiring, toggle switches etc. by installing LED lighting fixtures with power supply wring, toggle switches for LED fixtures with seven lighting contractors and integrating into existing bldg.. Information system along with new feed to ERU-1, ERU-2, GFUH-1 & GFUH-2.

Period of performance: 810 Calendar Days.

Bid Guarantee, Insurance, and DBE: A bid guarantee of 5% of total base and option year is required. The contract includes a DBE goal of 7% if the total base and option year amount is greater than $100,000. An insurance certificate for Commercial General Liability coverages with WMATA included as an additional insured as stated in the IFB.

Pre-Bid Conference: A pre-bid conference will not be held.

Bid Opening: Sealed bids are due no later than 2:00pm on June 15, 2016 at WMATA’s Headquarter, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001, Office of Procurement and Materials, Attention Mr. Kamoru Banjo, Contract Administrator. Please identify the solicitation number and number of amendments received on the bid package.
