Synopsis

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking bids from qualified firms to provide a quantity of Radiation Isotope Identification Devices (RIIDs). The Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) Metro Transit Police Department currently has several units with responsibility for CBRNE detection and response, including the Anti-Terrorism Teams, Explosive Ordnance Detection Canine Teams, and Hazardous Devices Unit. MTPD has expanded both the size and capability of the Hazardous Devices Unit to handle the full range of CBRNE threat scenarios. As the unit has expanded, additional tools have been identified as needed for combating specific categories of threats. The product within this solicitation represents the current need to fill identified capability gaps and to provide the unit the tools to be more agile in CBRNE response. MTPD continues to expand the detection activities of the Department to prevent a successful CBRNE attack on the transit system. A pre-bid conference will not be held. Your bid must be submitted in accordance with IFB terms and delivered to WMATA’s, Office of Procurement and Materials, 600 Fifth Street, N.W., Room 3C02, Washington, DC 20001. Bids must be no later than 2:00 P.M. on July 15, 2015.
