Metro service information for Veterans Day, November 11

On Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, Metrorail will open at 5 a.m. and close at midnight with trains operating at reduced frequencies due to the removal of the 7000-series railcars from service. Metrobus will operate on a Saturday schedule and MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday; however, subscription trips will be canceled.

Off-peak fares will be in effect and parking will be free at all Metro owned garages and lots.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

Metrorail will operate from 5 a.m. until midnight, serving 89 or 91 stations. Trains will operate as follows:

Red Line Trains every 12 minutes.

Blue Line Orange Line Silver Line Trains every 30 minutes.

Green Line Yellow Line Trains every 20 minutes.

In addition, customers are reminded that the Shady Grove and Rockville stations remain closed for construction due to the Rockville Canopy Replacement Project and other customer improvements. Free local shuttle bus service will be provided; however, due to the holiday, weekday express shuttle bus service will not be available.

Metrobus will operate on a Saturday schedule. Routes that do not normally operate on Saturday will not run. Schedules vary by route. Check timetables for schedule information by route. Saturday supplemental service will not be available.

MetroAccess service for customers with disabilities will operate the same hours as Metrorail and Metrobus; however, subscription trips will be canceled. Customers wishing to travel on the holiday should make a separate reservation online or by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535).
