Last year, Metro launched 24/7 bus service on 14 routes in the District of Columbia to respond to the growing needs of customers traveling late at night or early morning. Because of this service expansion, after October 31, 2024, we will no longer subsidize private car service through the After-Hours Commuter Services Program by Lyft/Lyft Shared Services.
Subscribers currently enrolled in the program will not receive any further subsides after October 31, 2024.
Metro is focused on supporting the expansion of public transit services to meet the needs of our larger community. This proactive approach by Metro to enhance public transportation options reflects a commitment to supporting the Region's growing mobility needs. For customers who need to plan their trips, please use Metro's Trip Planner and enter your start and end destination to easily access step-by-step directions; for customers who need real-time bus information, please use Metro's busETA.
If you have questions about upcoming changes or if you need assistance navigating trip planning, please don't hesitate to reach out to us through our Call Center at 202-637-7000 Monday through Friday 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
