Three Virginia Metrobus lines to change December 27


New limited-stop bus route in Alexandria

Metrobus service will change on three lines in Virginia on Sunday, December 27.

16B, E, P Columbia Pike Line

The Sunday schedule will change. Scheduled departures from the Pentagon Metrorail station will not change, but trip times along the route, as well as trip times arriving and leaving Annandale and Culmore, will be adjusted.
28A, NEW 28X Alexandria - Tysons Corner Line

The route 28A will be changed to include service provided by the current route 28B in Alexandria. As a result of these route changes, Metrobus service will be discontinued in several areas, with alternate service provided by Alexandria’s DASH regional bus service. A weekday eastbound 28A bus will be added to leave Tysons Corner at 4:20 p.m. Buses will operate every 30 minutes weekly, except weekdays between 9 and 10:05 p.m. when buses will leave Tysons Corner with greater frequency. An earlier and later weekday bus to Tysons Corner will be added to leave Columbia Pike and Carlin Springs Road at 5:09 a.m. and the King Street Metrorail station at 10:50 p.m. Additionally, a later bus will leave Tysons Corner at midnight heading to the King Street Metrorail station. The Saturday and Sunday scheduled times also will change.

A new limited-stop 28X route will serve 13 stops on Leesburg Pike/Broad Street between Tysons Corner and Baileys Crossroads during peak periods weekdays. Route 28X buses will run every 25 to 35 minutes. For more information see the news release.

TAGS S80, S91 - Springfield Circulator

Route S80 will be changed in the Metro Park office development area to provide two-way bus service on Walker Lane and serve new stops on eastbound Walker Lane and southbound Beulah Street. The schedule will be adjusted slightly.

The route S91 bus that leaves Franconia-Springfield Metrorail station at 6:56 a.m. will instead leave the station at 6:58 a.m. and arrive at the Springfield mall at 7:03 a.m.
