New Metrobus Route NH1 to National Harbor begins March 23


Additional Metrobus service changes in the District of Columbia and Virginia begin March 30

The new Metrobus National Harbor line, NH1, begins on Sunday, March 23, and service changes to four Metrobus lines in the District of Columbia and two lines in Virginia begin Sunday, March 30.

NH1 National Harbor Line
The new NH1 will operate to the National Harbor development from the Southern Ave Metrorail station and will run approximately every 20 minutes during rush hours and every 30 minutes during non-rush hours and weekends. Buses will operate between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week.

The NH1 will operate from the Southern Ave Metrorail station via Southern Avenue, Indian Head Highway, Oxon Hill Road, the Oxon Hill Park & Ride lot and new roadways within the National Harbor complex. The NH1 begins service on Sunday, March 23.

District of Columbia
A46 Anacostia-Congress Heights Line

On weeknights and Saturday nights, the northbound bus that leaves Livingston at 2:15 a.m. will continue from Half and M streets, SE, to 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.

92, 93 U Street-Garfield Line
Early morning southbound buses that begin at 8th and L streets, SE, will be extended to begin at U and 14th streets, NW. Late night northbound trips that end at 8th and L streets, SE, will be changed to end at U and 14th streets, NW.

79 Georgia Avenue-MetroExtra Line
New weekday midday service will be added. Buses will run every 12 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the evenings, buses will continue to run every 12 minutes and service will be extended to 7 p.m.

N22 Navy Yard Shuttle Line
Extended weeknight and new weekend service will begin. Buses will run every 10 minutes at all times. On weeknights, service will be extended to 10:30 p.m. On Saturdays, buses will run from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and on Sundays, buses will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. After 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, buses will follow a shortened route, discontinuing the loop from 8th and M streets, SE, to 12th and M streets, SE. In addition, the bus stop at Union Station will be relocated to the south side of Massachusetts Avenue (across the street from the current stop), and the routing around Union Station will change slightly.

Virginia
16B, 16E, 16J Columbia Pike Line

On Saturdays between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., buses will be changed to run every 15 minutes. Combined, 16B, 16G and 16J buses will run every 7.5 minutes along Columbia Pike in Arlington. On Sundays between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., 16J and 16B buses will be rerouted to serve the Pentagon City Metrorail station. Route 16J buses will be renamed 16P, and 16B buses affected by this change will be renamed 16E.

16G Columbia Heights West-Pentagon City Line
On Saturdays, buses will run every 15 minutes between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. Combined, 16B, 16G and 16J buses will run every 7.5 minutes along Columbia Pike in Arlington.
