Metrobus service changes in Virginia begin December 30

Service changes on Metrobus will be implemented on 13 lines in Virginia beginning December 30. The changes are in response to customer requests and will improve service reliability.

3A, 3B, 3E Lee Highway Line
Saturday and Sunday bus times will change to reflect current traffic conditions.

9E Huntington-Pentagon Line
Weekday bus times will change to reflect the extension of service to the Braddock Road Metrorail station.

10A, 10E Hunting Towers-Pentagon Line
Weekday 10A buses from Pendleton and Columbus streets will leave at 4:51, 5:21 and 5:51 a.m. 10E weekday bus times also will change, reflecting the extension of service to the Braddock Road Metrorail station.

12C Centreville North Line
Buses will leave two minutes earlier from Sully Government Center Park & Ride Lot, and Newton Patent Drive and Braddock Road on weekday mornings.

12S Stringfellow Road-Vienna Line
Customers may board the 5:48, 6:18 and 6:42 a.m. buses at the first stop on Newbrook Drive, south of Westfields Boulevard.

16Y Columbia Pike-Farragut Square Line
Two morning and three afternoon buses will be added to the weekday schedule to reduce crowding. In the mornings between 7:06 and 8:20 a.m., buses will leave Barcroft every nine to 10 minutes. At McPherson Square, an earlier bus will leave at 3:45 p.m., and buses will leave every 12 minutes between 5:10 and 6:10 p.m.

22B Pentagon-Army-Navy Drive-Shirley Park Line
New Saturday service will run between the Pentagon and Shirley Park, every 40 minutes from 7 a.m. to 9:20 p.m.

23A, 23C McLean-Crystal City Line
Weekday bus times will change to reflect current traffic conditions.

25A, 25F, 25G, 25J, 25P, 25R Ballston-Bradlee-Pentagon Line
The 25A will run between the Ballston-MU and Pentagon Metrorail stations over a revised routing. On weekdays, 25A will run every 15 to 40 minutes in peak hours, and every hour during the midday and late evening. 25A/ peak hour buses will continue to run between NVCC-Alexandria campus and the ends of the line. On Saturdays and Sundays, buses will run hourly between Ballston-MU and Pentagon stations from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (8:30 p.m. Sundays). On Saturdays, 25A and 25B will run every 30 minutes between Ballston and Carlin Springs Road. On Sundays, the first and last morning and evening buses will run between NVCC and Pentagon Metrorail station.

25C, 25D NVCC Alexandria-Pentagon
Buses will run weekdays only between NVCC-Alexandria and the Pentagon Metrorail station. 25C buses will travel to the Pentagon in the mornings and to NVCC in the evenings. 25D buses will travel to NVCC in the mornings and to the Pentagon Metrorail station in the evenings.

From 6 to 8:30 a.m., 25C buses will run every seven to 20 minutes from NVCC-Alexandria. In the evenings from the Pentagon, 25C buses will run every seven to 40 minutes, along with 25A buses, going to NVCC-Alexandria. 25D buses will run every 25 to 60 minutes in the morning and afternoon peak hours.

25B Landmark-Ballston Line
Weekday and Saturday bus times will change to coordinate with the revised 25A. On Saturdays, 25A and 25B will run every 30 minutes between Ballston and Carlin Springs Road.

28B Alexandria-Tysons Corner Line
An additional bus will leave Tysons Corner Center weekdays at 3:45 p.m. going to Baileys Crossroads.

38B Ballston-Farragut Square Line
On weekdays, the 5:49 p.m. bus from the Ballston-MU Metrorail station will be changed to leave at 5:48 p.m.
Discontinued service and alternative service:
25P, 25R: Weeknights after 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays on Army-Navy Dr. between South Lynn St. and Avalon Bay/Shirley Park. As an alternative, riders can take the 22B on Saturdays.

25A, 25J, 25P, 25R: In ParkFairfax between Quaker Lane and Preston Road, and Valley Drive and West Glebe Road. As an alternative, riders can take the 10B, 23A, 23C (on Martha Custis Drive), or DASH AT3, AT4.

25A, 25F, 25J, 25P, 25R: At King and Beauregard streets. As an alternative, riders can take the 7A, 7C, 7E, 7F to the Pentagon Metrorail station, the 28A to Skyline/Baileys Crossroads or new 25A (at Beauregard Street and Braddock Road).

25G: On Braddock Road between Van Dorn and Early streets. As an alternative, riders can take DASH AT5 or 25A, 25C (at Braddock Road and Van Dorn Street).

25J: Goodwin House Baileys Crossroads (#3440 South Jefferson St.). As an alternative, riders can take the 16J to the Pentagon, 16H (weekday peak) to the Pentagon City and Crystal City Metrorail stations, or the new 25A (at Leesburg Pike and Jefferson Street).

25R: On Seminary Road between George Mason Drive and Carlin Springs Road As an alternative, riders can take the 28B; 25A (on George Mason Drive) on Sundays.
