Metrobus service changes in Maryland begin December 30

Service changes on Metrobus will be implemented on 13 lines in Maryland beginning December 30. The changes are in response to customer requests and will improve service reliability.

85 Rhode Island Avenue-New Carrollton Line
In the afternoon peak hours, the route number of outbound 85 buses will be changed to 84. The existing restrictions will not change. Customers may get on these buses at all stops, but no one may get off the bus in the District.

C11 Clinton Line
An additional bus will leave Clinton Park & Ride lot on weekdays at 8:35 a.m. going to the Branch Ave Metrorail station.

D12, D14 Oxon Hill-Suitland Line
Saturday bus times will change.

F4 New Carrollton-Silver Spring Line
On Sundays, buses will run every 30 minutes. The first buses will leave the New Carrollton Metrorail station at 7:30 a.m. and the Silver Spring Metrorail station at 8:03 a.m. The last three buses from the New Carrollton Metrorail station will leave at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. The last two buses from the Silver Spring Metrorail station will leave at 8:33 and 9:33 p.m.

F14 Sheriff Road-Capitol Heights Line
Weekday schedules will change to reflect current traffic conditions. The number and frequency of trips will remain the same.

J7, J9 I-270 Express Line
Bus times will change and one new J9 trip will be added to the weekday morning schedule. All J9 buses will stop on Rockville Pike adjacent to the Medical Center Metrorail station instead of the Metrorail station roadway.

P12 Eastover-Addison Road Line
Weekday schedules will change to reflect current traffic conditions. The number and frequency of trips will remain the same.

P17, P19 Oxon Hill-Fort Washington Line
Buses will bypass the South Capitol Street underpass and serve the bus stop at South Capitol and M streets, SE. Note: The effective date of this change will be delayed until the ramp from northbound South Capitol Street to M Street is no longer impacted by construction.

T2 River Road Line
Weekday evening bus times will change to improve connections with Ride On Route 1 at the Friendship Heights Metrorail station.

T18 Annapolis Road Line
Saturday service will start earlier with additional buses leaving the New Carrollton Metrorail station at 6:56, 7:26 and 7:56 a.m., and leaving the Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood Metrorail station at 7:45 and 8:45 a.m.

W13 Bock Road Line
Buses will bypass the South Capitol Street underpass and serve the bus stop at South Capitol and M streets, SE. Note: The effective date of this change will be delayed until the ramp from northbound South Capitol Street to M Street is no longer impacted by construction.

Y5, Y7, Y8, Y9 Georgia Avenue-Maryland Line
Saturday and Sunday bus times will change. On Sundays, midday buses will run every 30 minutes between Montgomery General Hospital and the Wheaton Metrorail station, and between Norbeck Park & Ride Lot and the Silver Spring Metrorail station. Buses will run every 15 minutes between Norbeck Road and the Wheaton Metrorail station. Customers traveling north of Norbeck Road and south of the Wheaton Metrorail station must transfer to complete their trips. Riders may also take the Q2 between the Wheaton and Silver Spring Metrorail stations.

Z2 Colesville-Ashton Line
The 8:25 and 8:55 a.m. weekday buses from the Silver Spring Metrorail station that end in Colesville will be extended to Bonifant Road and New Hampshire Avenue.
