Metro service information for Labor Day, September 2

On Labor Day, Monday, September 2, 2019, Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule. MetroAccess customers may make reservations to travel on the holiday; however, subscription trips will be canceled. 

Service Information

  • Metrorail: The system will open at 8 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. Trains will operate on a Sunday schedule. Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking will be free at all Metrorail parking facilities.
    • Six Blue and Yellow line stations south of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will be closed for full platform reconstruction and major station improvements. To expedite construction and minimize customer inconvenience, the following stations will remain closed through Sunday, September 8, 2019.

      • Eisenhower Ave
      • Huntington

      • Franconia-Springfield

  • Metrobus: Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. View bus timetables and plan your trip.
  • MetroAccess: All subscription trips will be canceled on Monday. Customers wishing to travel on the holiday should make a separate reservation online (text only) or by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535)
