Suspect in Southern Avenue shooting arrested by Metro Transit Police

D’Hani Rispus of Washington, D.C. was taken into custody in the District without incident this morning by Metro Transit Police with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Metropolitan Police Department. Rispus is being extradited to Maryland where he will be charged as an adult with first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, firearm use in a crime of violence, and possession of a loaded handgun. 

The shooting occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. yesterday, January 22. The victim, a 19-year-old male, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
