Media Advisory: Metro workers donate food, volunteer at Capital Area Food Bank

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Metro’s General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Randy Clarke, Metro board members, and Metro workers will join Capital Area Food Bank officials to donate thousands of pounds of food and a check to help feed those in need in the region.

This is the sixth year Metro has encouraged its employees and the public to donate to the Fill-A-Bus campaign. The goal is to raise $15,000 and collect 5,500 pounds of food that will create 35,000 meals for families, seniors, and those in need.

WHAT: Metro employees will unload food from the bus and help sort and pack collected food donations at the Capital Area Food Bank as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Officials will take a photo in front of the bus, present a check, and then head into the warehouse to help sort and pack food.
