Metro service information for Memorial Day, Monday, May 30

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, Metrorail will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight, providing normal service on 5 of 6 lines, with service adjustments on the Orange Line due to the Platform Improvement Project. Metrobus service will vary by route, with buses running on a Sunday schedule. MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday; however, subscription trips will be canceled.

Metrorail

Red Line Trains every 10 minutes. 

Blue Line Silver Line Trains every 20 minutes

Orange Line Trains every 20 minutes

  • No train service between Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton through September 5.
  • New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Ave stations closed.
  • Free shuttle buses will operate as follows:
  • Local Service
    • Local shuttle between New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood, Minnesota Ave & Stadium-Armory. 
    • Local service operates every 15-20 minutes, 7 days a week during hours the rail system is open.

  • Express Service
    • Express 1 with limited stops at New Carrollton, Landover & Stadium-Armory.
    • Express 2 with limited stops at Deanwood, Minnesota Ave & Stadium-Armory.
    • Express service operates every 10-15 minutes, 7 days a week during hours the rail system is open.

  • Due to rail maintenance: Monday, after 10 p.m., single tracking between Ballston and East Falls Church.

Yellow Line Green Line Trains every 15 minutes

Metrobus

  • Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule.
  • Service varies by route, check timetables for details. 

MetroAccess

  • All subscription trips will be canceled Monday.
  • Customers wishing to travel on the holiday should make a separate reservation online (text only) or by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535).
