Your Next Mission Starts Here
At Metro, we know that when we hire a service member, veteran, Guard/Reserve member, or military spouse, we’re bringing in someone who understands mission, teamwork, and accountability.
Since 2012, Metro has increased its military veteran employee base by nearly 50%. Today, veterans are thriving in roles such as:
- Metro Transit Police Officers
- Bus and Rail Operators
- Mechanics and skilled trades
- Project Managers
- Information Technology professionals
- And many other critical roles that keep our region moving
We actively seek to hire, develop, and retain military and veteran talent because your skills and experience give Metro a clear strategic advantage.
How We Recruit Military Talent
Mission Metro is our fully integrated strategy focused on connecting with the military community. As part of this effort, we:
- Deliver employment presentations and information sessions on military bases and at community-based events.
- Participate in Job Readiness Workshops with the Department of Labor Veteran Employment Services.
- Highlight career opportunities for military spouses at all of our military outreach events
- Incorporate military occupational codes (MOS/AFSC/Rating) into many job postings to help you quickly see how your military experience translates to civilian careers at Metro
Whether you’re still serving, transitioning, or already a veteran, we want you to see Metro as a place where your next chapter can begin.
Awards & Recognition
Our commitment to the military community has been nationally recognized:
- In 2014, Metro became the first quasi-government entity to earn both Military Friendly® Employer and Military Spouse Friendly® designations from Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse.
- Metro has earned the Military Friendly® Employer designation every year from 2015 through 2026.
These honors reflect a simple truth: you don’t just fit in here – you’re valued here.
