We usually have media availability after each meeting with the General Manager and Board Chair.
News media access to stations
News media should contact Media Relations at MetroNews@wmata.com for permission to film in stations. If it is outside normal business hours, please submit the request via this online form.
Metro's primary role is to move people, so our customers come first. We will work with media to determine a time and place with minimal impact to the public.
Lights, cables and tripods are not allowed in stations for safety reasons. Filming on moving trains and buses is not permitted for safety reasons.
Student requests
Due to the high number of requests, media relations does not provide responses for class projects. Metro will make every effort to fulfill media requests for stories in college newspapers and other student media outlets.
