Escalators, Elevators, and Canopy Projects
Metro operates nearly 1,000 elevators and escalators, more than any other transit agency in North America. Hundreds of thousands of customers access Metro stations daily and consistent upkeep is required to keep our elevators and escalators in a state of good repair. We're stepping up our game and making major investments to rehabilitate elevators and completely replace the oldest and least reliable escalators across the system.
This investment is part of Metro's Capital Improvement Program, designed to enhance the customer experience, improve safety, and keep the region's infrastructure in a state of good repair. Click on the images below for more information about Metro's escalator, elevator, and canopy projects.
