Weekend trackwork: Buses replace trains on Blue, Orange, and Silver lines between Eastern Market and Cheverly
On Saturday Dec. 7 and Sunday Dec. 8, free shuttle buses will replace trains between Eastern Market and Cheverly/Addison Road.
Potomac Avenue, Stadium-Armory, Benning Road, Minnesota Ave., Deanwood, Capitol Heights will be closed as crews make repairs to aerial structures over the Anacostia River. The Blue Line will end at Federal Center SW. Customers will need to transfer to an Orange or Silver Line train to Eastern Market to catch a shuttle.
Shuttle routes include a Blue and Silver local service with stops at each station and express service from Eastern Market to Addison Road. The Orange Line shuttle will have local service and an express from Eastern Market to Cheverly.
Service Information
Blue Line: Trains will operate every 12 minutes during the days and every 15 minutes after 9:30 p.m. between Franconia-Springfield and Federal Center SW.
Orange Line: Trains will operate in two segments:
- Vienna to Eastern Market: Trains operate every 12 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes after 9:30 p.m.
- Cheverly to New Carrollton: Trains operate every 10 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes after 9:30 p.m.
Silver Line: Trains will operate in two segments:
- Ashburn to Eastern Market: Trains operate every 12 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes after 9:30 p.m.
- Addison Road to Downtown Largo: Trains operate every 10 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes after 9:30 p.m.
Red Line: Normal service
Green Line: Normal service
