Weekend Track Work: Metro to fix track issue with impacts to Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines on Sunday
From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines will have reduced service due to track work near the Potomac Ave. Metrorail Station.
The Blue Line will be shortened and Orange and Silver line trains will single track.
Crews will be repairing a restraining rail on a curved track section with bad fasteners and broken studs that hold the rail down. Trains have been running through the area at reduced speeds. The repair will allow trains to run at usual speeds again.
Sunday Service Information
Trains will run every 12 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Federal Center SW until 2 p.m. Sunday. After that, normal service between Franconia-Springfield and Downtown Largo until closing.
Trains will run every 24 minutes from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. with single tracking between Eastern Market and Minnesota Ave. Normal service after 2 p.m.
