Weekend track work on the Green Line, summer construction continues on Red Line
This weekend, June 8 - 9, Metro will perform maintenance and repairs on the Red and Green lines, with normal service across the rest of the system. Trains will serve 93 of Metro's 98 stations. Yellow Line service will also extend to Greenbelt instead of stopping at Mt Vernon Square, providing additional service for expected crowds along the Pride Parade route and other Pride Weekend events.
On the Green Line, crews will replace rail ties that support outdoor tracks and insulators; perform deck waterproofing and repair grout pads that secure the rails in underground sections of the system; and clear surrounding vegetation that may impede train service.

Service Information
Free shuttle buses replace trains between Fort Totten and Glenmont. Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen, Silver Spring, and Takoma stations closed. Normal Service frequencies between Shady Grove and Fort Totten. | |
Trains single track between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue. Trains run every 10 minutes between Greenbelt and Southern Avenue and every 20 minutes between Southern Avenue and Branch Avenue. | |
Modified Service: Trains operate every 10 minutes between Huntington and Greenbelt to provide additional service for large-scale events during Pride Weekend (Yellow Line trains normally operate between Huntington and Mount Vernon Square) | |
