Join Metrobus at the Washington Commanders game Sunday and learn how to be a part of our winning team

Metro is looking to recruit new prospects for its winning team. This Sunday, Metrobus will be scouting for top talent at the Washington Commanders game. Whether you want to quarterback the team as a bus driver or hold the line on safety by maintaining the bus fleet – Metro has the job for you.

The Metrobus tailgate will pull into FedExField from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23. We’ll be in the F Purple Lot where our bus team will have giveaways and provide information about what it takes to be a bus driver or mechanic for Metro.

Metro and transit agencies nationwide are facing a shortage of bus drivers and skilled workers. We offer a wide range of benefits including competitive salaries, paid time off, tuition reimbursement and you ride Metrorail and Metrobus for free!

When you join the Metrobus team, everyone is treated like a first round pick. Bus drivers are eligible for an incentive of up to $5,000 after completing the 10-week training period. At a minimum, candidates must have a commercial driver learner’s permit to start and Metro will provide the training.

Skilled workers are also in high demand, with a starting hourly rate for bus mechanics around $36 and top hourly pay of more than $45.

“As a Metrobus operator I’m working for my community to bring the service that they want us to deliver,” said Tracy Patten who drives a Metrobus.

Hear more from Patten in this video. Then come out to the Commanders game to learn more. We’ll be the ones tailgating with the Metrobus.
