Metro prepares for winter blast with snow, high winds and frigid temperatures expected Friday

Metro is monitoring conditions throughout the region, as another round of winter weather moves into the service area overnight and Friday. Preparations are underway to respond to snow, gusty winds, and extreme temperatures, conditions that may vary widely. Customers are advised to prepare for potential service impacts, to Metrobus service tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 19, if conditions become hazardous.

Metrobus plans to provide regular scheduled service tomorrow. However, if conditions deteriorate, Metrobus customers may experience delays or detours and should allow for additional travel time. In the event hazardous conditions persist, service may be adjusted, and some routes may not operate. Customers are encouraged to check busETA before traveling for route specific service information.

Metrorail is expected to operate on a normal Friday schedule with real-time service information available on MetroPulse. The system is designed to handle moderate amounts of snow without impacts to service.
