MEDIA ADVISORY: Metro kicks off summer with inaugural community Metro Fest Celebration
WHAT:Metro General Manager and CEO Randy Clarke will welcome community members and transit lovers to the organization's first Metro Fest Celebration. Metro Fest is a community event open to the public at no cost. The event includes arts and crafts, games, entertainment, snacks, water, and Metro-branded giveaways. The goal of Metro Fest is to connect with the region in a fun way and educate transit enthusiasts of all ages about the value of transit in our communities. Participants will meet Metro staff and have an opportunity to learn about transit while touring a rail car, an electric bus, and our historic Rosa Parks bus. On-site will also include Metro’s fire truck, MTPD’s bomb squad vehicle, track and structure equipment, and more.
Media planning to attend should RSVP no later than Saturday, June 29 at 8 a.m. with your estimated time of arrival by using the online form at wmata.com/media.
