What We Offer
Pay
We offer guaranteed eight hours of pay, five days a week. The starting salary for Mechanic D is over $70,000 and there are opportunities to earn overtime.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or possession of a general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Experience: Level D
- Two years as a garage mechanic or related experience
The following vocational/technical training can be substituted for two years of full-time work experience at all levels:
- Three years high school mechanical training
- Two years tech school mechanical training; OR, two years college mechanical training
- A current ASE certification in one of the following fields: transit bus, automotive, medium/heavy truck or school bus
- Military Occupational Skills Course certifications in a related field
- Associate degree in Automotive Technology
- Automotive manufacturer-specific certifications
- Two years of vocational training in transit bus, automotive, medium/heavy truck or school bus maintenance from a school recognized by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges
