Grosvenor-Strathmore Station Construction Impacts
Updated: 4/11/2026
Advisory Effective: Mar 30, 2026 – Sep 21, 2026
Beginning March 30, 2026, construction will begin on the north side of the Grosvenor–Strathmore Station platform to replace the existing platform edge as part of ongoing customer‑focused improvements ahead of the Summer 2026 Red Line Major Construction shutdown.
This work includes:
- Installation of new slip‑resistant tiles
- New granite pavers
- New tactile surfaces
- Updated Passenger Information Displays (PIDs)
During this phase, barriers will separate active construction areas from customer areas, allowing riders to continue using the platform and board trains from the south side and middle sections.
Customer impacts
- Construction will take place 24/7 behind barricades on the north side of the platform. The south side and middle areas will remain open for boarding and exiting trains.
- Customers may experience loud noises during this period. "Hot work" will take place only during non-revenue hours.
- For your safety, please follow all posted signs and instructions from on-site safety personnel.
