Metro Rail weekday service changes for Monday July 6 through Friday, July 10

General hours:
Monday - Thursday: 5 am - midnight
Friday: 5 am - 2 am
Impacted service
Summer Shutdown July 6 - Sept. 6: Trains will not operate between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights. Free shuttles replace trains — learn more about the service impacts.
Trains operate in two separate segments:
- Shady Grove - North Bethesda: daytime: 6 minutes between trains; evening: 10 minutes between trains
- Glenmont - Friendship Heights: daytime: 6 minutes between trains; evening: 10 minutes between trains
What track work are we doing?
On the Red Line:
- Creating a second mezzanine at Bethesda station to integrate the MTA Purple Line
- Rehabilitating the platform at Grosvenor-Strathmore by replacing slab edges and tiles, adding new lighting, and modifying drainage
- Maintaining the raised railway across Rockville Pike/MD 355 between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Medical Center stations
