West Falls Church parking rate changes
Updated: 9/22/2026
Advisory Effective: Oct 19, 2026
Effective October 19, 2026, a $10 daily non-rider parking fee will be implemented at West Falls Church Station. Customers with a qualifying Metro rail trip will continue to receive the $3 daily rider parking rate.
To receive the rider rate, customers must:
- Have a qualifying Metro rail trip.
- Use the same Smart Trip card, contactless credit card, or debit card to both exit the rail station and pay for parking.
Information regarding what constitutes a qualifying rail trip is available on Metro's parking webpage.
Customers will be charged the $10 non-rider fee if:
- The payment method used to pay for parking was not used to exit the rail station.
- The payment method does not have a qualifying rail trip associated with it.
Customers using pre-tax transit benefits must load their transit funds onto a SmarTrip card and use that same SmarTrip card for both their rail trip and parking payment to receive the rider parking rate.
The non-rider fee is being implemented to help preserve parking availability for Metro customers during ongoing construction activities that have reduced the number of available parking spaces at West Falls Church Station.
