Temporary Detour: Red Line Shutdown N Rockville Pk

Routes Affected: M42, M44

 

Beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026, until Monday, September 7, 2026, buses will detour due to the Red Line shutdown between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights stations. This is necessary to provide space for the rail replacement shuttles and to reduce congestion at the bus stop on northbound Rockville Pk far side of Marinelli Rd.

 

The following routes will detour:

M42 Randolph Rd-College Park eastbound towards College Park

  • No detour required.

M42 Randolph Rd-College Park westbound towards North Bethesda

  • Buses begin detouring on Nicholson Ln at Citadel Ave, resuming regular route on Marinelli Rd at Rockville Pk.

M44 Randolph Rd-Hyattsville Crossing eastbound towards Hyattsville Crossing

  • No detour required.

M44 Randolph Rd-Hyattsville Crossing westbound towards North Bethesda

  • Buses begin detouring on Nicholson Ln at Citadel Ave, resuming regular route on Marinelli Rd at Rockville Pk.
