Temporary Detour: Connecticut Ave Deckover Project

Routes Affected: D70, D72

 

Beginning on Thursday, July 9, 2026, until Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 8:00pm until 5:00am Monday through Thursday, and from Friday at 8:00pm through Monday at 5:00am, buses will detour due to the closure of the Connecticut Avenue underpass for the Connecticut Avenue Deckover Project. Please allow additional travel time and avoid the area if possible.

 

Street Closure:

  • Connecticut Ave underpass between Dupont Cir and R St, NW

 

The following routes will detour:

D70 Connecticut Ave northbound towards Chevy Chase Cir

  • Buses begin detouring on Connecticut Ave, NW at Dupont Cir, resuming regular route on Connecticut Ave, NW at Florida Ave.

 

D70 Connecticut Ave southbound towards Farragut Sq

  • Buses begin detouring on Connecticut Ave, NW at Florida Ave, resuming regular route on Connecticut Ave, NW at N St.

 

D72 Connecticut Ave-Mt Pleasant northbound towards Van Ness

  • Buses begin detouring on Connecticut Ave, NW at Dupont Cir, resuming regular route on Connecticut Ave, NW at Florida Ave.

 

D72 Connecticut Ave-Mt Pleasant southbound towards Lafayette Sq

  • Buses begin detouring on Connecticut Ave, NW at Florida Ave, resuming regular route on Connecticut Ave, NW at N St.
