Pentagon Station Escalator Modernization

Advisory Effective: Jul 17, 2026 – Oct 6, 2026
On July 17, 2026, Metro will begin modernizing the escalators at the Pentagon Metro Station. The work will take approximately three months to complete.
This project will improve escalator reliability by replacing and upgrading all major components, controls, motors, and safety devices. This rehabilitation is part of Metro’s regular escalator maintenance program.
Customer impacts
- All adjacent elevators will remain open.
- For your safety, stay clear of the construction zone and follow all posted signs.
