Glenmont East Parking Garage Elevator Modernization

On September 15, 2025, Metro began rehabilitating one of three elevators in the East Parking Garage. One elevator will be out of service at a time, with the remaining two elevators operational.
The project will improve elevator reliability by replacing and upgrading all major components, including a new passenger cab, controls, motors, and safety devices. This is part of Metro’s regular elevator maintenance program, which includes monthly and annual maintenance on all 350+ elevators and major rehabilitation work every 10-15 years.
Customer information
- During elevator modernization work, one elevator will be closed with the remaining two elevators open for public use.
- For your safety, stay clear of the construction zone and follow all posted signs.
