A1X Route Adjustment: Transitway Extension Opening on September 13

Route Affected: A1X 

Effective Sunday, September 13, the new transitway infrastructure along Crystal Dr and 12th St S in Arlington County will open. The following service adjustments will be made to accommodate the transitway opening: 

Northbound  

  • Buses will operate via Crystal Dr, 12th St S, and S Hayes St to the Pentagon City Metro Rail Station. Northbound buses will no longer serve the Crystal City Metro Rail Station along S Bell St.  

Southbound  

  • Buses will continue to operate from the Pentagon City Metro Rail Station via S Hayes St, Army Navy Dr, S Eads St, and 15th St S due to other ongoing projects within the Crystal City area. 

New Stops Serviced 

  • Crystal Dr at 15th St S (Stop ID #6001443) 
  • 12th St S at Long Bridge Dr (Stop ID #6001444)
  • 12th St S at S Elm St (Stop ID #6001446)
