For seniors
If you are 65 or older you can get a Senior Smar Trip card that gives you a 50% discount on Metro. When you tap that card to pay your fare, you’re automatically charged the discounted fare, not the regular fare.

What to bring
Bring a government-issued photo ID that shows your birthdate, like your driver’s license or passport.
Go mobile
Once you have a plastic Senior Smart Trip card, you can transfer it to your mobile wallet.
Forgot your card?
You can display a valid, government-issued photo ID with your date of birth to:
- pay the Reduced Fare on Metro Bus in cash
- Purchase the Metrobus Weekly Senior Pass at one of these locations.
