Metro Launches Better Bus Partner Program in Support of Upcoming Better Bus Network Service Changes
Published: 05/01/2025
Community-based outreach campaign invites regional partners to help customers prepare for the launch of the redesigned bus network on June 29
Metro is seeking participants for its “Better Bus Partner” program, a new outreach initiative in support of upcoming Metrobus service changes.
Metro is redesigning the entire Metrobus system for the first time in history to provide more frequent, consistent bus service. Under the new bus network, every Metrobus route will change beginning June 29. The extent of the changes varies by route.
To help customers prepare, Metro is enlisting local organizations, businesses, schools, government agencies, senior centers, recreation centers and more to become Better Bus Partners.
“Metro can’t do this alone – and thankfully, we don’t have to,” said Metro General Manager and CEO Randy Clarke. “We are grateful to have such dedicated regional partners who know their neighborhoods and understand their communities. Having our partners help spread the word, helps inform as many customers as possible about the new network.”
Better Bus Partners will help prepare their communities for launch day, distribute materials about the new bus network (route maps, schedules), and monitor and report missing or outdated bus stop signage.
“The launch of Better Bus is a historic step forward for public transit in our region, as it’s our first comprehensive network redesign of Metrobus,” said Metro Board Chair Valerie Santos. “This transformation will take all of us—local leaders, businesses, and community members—working together to support riders as they navigate these changes and plan new trips. We're proud to lead this regional collaboration to deliver a system that better serves our communities, operates more efficiently, and moves us closer to building a world-class transit network.”
