Published: 03/24/2025
Metrorail will open two hours early at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 6, to get Cherry Blossom 10-Mile runners and spectators to the race on time for the 7:30 a.m. start.
All lines will run normal service, with trains arriving approximately every four minutes at stations served by multiple lines downtown.
The Smithsonian Station on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines is the closest station to the start and finish lines but may experience crowding. Attendees can also take the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines to Federal Triangle (12-minute walk to the starting line) or the Blue, Orange, Silver, Green, or Yellow lines to L'Enfant Plaza (19-minute walk to the starting line).
Metro is committed to delivering safe, reliable service to support the region by providing extended hours for large-scale public events. The race draws more than 17,000 runners, in addition to thousands more who come to watch.
