Ashley moved to D.C. from Florida, where she'd always driven. Once here, Metro was a revelation. It gave her freedom, not limits. Through her work in community development, she rides all over the city, including Ward 6, connecting with residents, small businesses, and local organizations along the way. For her, Metro is how she experiences D.C.'s neighborhoods and people.

Ashley believes that Metro creates a real, organic connection — the small moments with strangers, the sense of being part of a shared city rather than passing through it. It's deepened her relationship with D.C. and the surrounding area in a way driving never did.
