Winter 2023 Red Line Construction
Purpose
Metro performed critical safety repairs to the Red Line tunnel and track infrastructure, upgraded signal and communications systems, and installed new platform edge lights at three Red Line stations.

Replaced 3,159 feet of deteriorated rail to improve safety and service.
Added extra insulation to the third rail power cables to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Restored the deteriorated concrete ceiling above the tracks.
