Beginning March 30, 2026, construction will begin on the north side of the Grosvenor–Strathmore Station platform to replace the existing platform edge as part of ongoing customer‑focused improvements ahead of the Summer 2026 Red Line Major Construction shutdown.

On September 15, 2025, Metro began rehabilitating one of three elevators in the East Parking Garage. One elevator will be out of service at a time, with the remaining two elevators operational.

Metro is building a new mezzanine at the south end of Bethesda Station to connect Metro Rail to the future Purple Line Bethesda Station. The mezzanine will not be accessible until the Purple Line opens in 2027.

MDOT MTA Purple Line construction crews began work on the new mezzanine that will connect the future Purple Line Station to Metro, MARC, and the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center.

Beginning April 21, 2026, Metro will replace the two elevators on the East side of Hungerford Drive (Rt. 355) near Park Avenue entrance of the station. During this project, one elevator will be out of service at a time.
