In January 2023, Metro began a capital project to install a new stairway and canopy at Judiciary Square Station’s north entrance, located at F Street between 4th and 5th Streets NW.
Metro is building a new mezzanine at the south end of Bethesda Station to connect Metro Rail to the future Purple Line Bethesda Station. The mezzanine will not be accessible until the Purple Line opens in 2027.
MDOT MTA Purple Line construction crews began work on the new mezzanine that will connect the future Purple Line Station to Metro, MARC, and the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center.
Beginning April 21, 2026, Metro will replace the two elevators on the east side of Hungerford Drive (Rt. 355) near the Park Av entrance of the station. During this project, one elevator will be out of service at a time.
