Pay an MTP Violation Citation
You may Pay the MTP Violation Citation (forfeit the collateral) and decline a court hearing by mailing a copy of the citation along with a check or money order (payable to DC Superior Court) to:

Failure to submit payment and request a court date within 30 days from the date written on the citation will cause the matter to be presented to the DC Superior Court and may result in the issuance of a warrant for your arrest.
To contest the MTP Violation Citation, contact the MTP Warrant and Fugitive Apprehension Unit at 202-962-2173 or via email at Warrant_Fugitive@wmata.com within 15 days of the issuing date to make arrangements to submit a notice to appear.

Recovering property from MTPD
The MTPD has procedures to retain, safeguard, and eventually dispose of evidence and prisoner property. To have this property released back to you, follow the below procedures:
Evidence
- After evidence is released by the prosecuting attorney (usually after trial), the owner must call the property clerk at 202-962-2134 to make an appointment. The owner will need to come to 4100 Garden City Drive, Hyattsville, MD 20785 and will need to provide identification.
Prisoner Property
- The owner must call the property clerk at 202-962-2134 to make an appointment. The owner will need to come to 4100 Garden City Drive, Hyattsville, MD 20785 and will need to provide identification.
- Note: Your prisoner property may be located at the processing center where you were transported.
Found Property
- Found property is generally turned over to Metro's Lost and Found. To determine if your property has been located by any Metro employee, call 202-962-1195.
